I read the Student Protest case study and enjoyed reading about the students' passion for their school.
1. I agree with the district's decision to ask teachers not to speak with students about the school consolidation plan while district administrators decided where they would send the students the following year, because they need to be able to answer all the questions if they told the students and parents. Everyone would have a great amount of questions and concerns, so teachers needed some time to answer their own questions before overwhelming students and parents.
4. School closures in low-income areas have especially detrimental effects on the students and families in these communities because they are more at-risk. Parents occasionally work very difficult hours, students might not have time or space to do homework every night, and they might not have the resources they need to learn at home, such as computers or books. This is why these low-income families feel these detrimental effects much more than other communities because they need this education that much more.
